If you have a moment (and your topic for the recent assignment was Framing the Ubiquity of Technology in Education), you will enjoy this little twist on an old favorite that those of us with children have probably read many nights. I remember after reading the book Goodnight Moon to my children, I then had to go to everything in the room and tell those items “goodnight” before putting my daughters to bed.
This twist on a classic fits perfect into the topic of my last writing assignment for the semester. The omnipresence of technology has changed the way that our children think, research, and communicate with each other. Goodnight iPad by Ann Droyd is certainly a more fitting way to put our digital natives to bed these days. Although my children are now 8 and 10 and they read their own books before going to bed, I just might have to add this book to my Christmas list this year…yes, “my” Christmas list, not my children’s list:)
Thank you to Jennifer Nelson for sharing this with me! It could not have been more fitting for the paper that I just finished writing!
