It was very helpful to have the writing assignment before class on Saturday. It gave me time to think about the topics and bullet some ideas. When the time came to write, I had a direction mapped out which made for a more productive day.
We began the class with some discussion about what to include in a persuasive writing piece. The video that we watched at Longwood really sparked some good discussion about targeting the audience. We also talked about how writing to persuade can differ from speaking to persuade.
Once we all had time to write, we exchanged papers and reviewed them in a group. The feedback that I received was helpful, but the process of reviewing was equally helpful. The conversation we had in reviewing papers gave me ideas for my own writing.
