me, in a word

brianmaltby

I have spent a good deal of time reading this summer. I am currently working on Unmistakable Impact by Jim Knight and The Speed of Trust by Stephen Covey. I have challenged myself to summarize my leadership style in one word. At first I thought maybe trust or credibility, though the word I continually come back to is relationships. I think this is what I find absolutely imperative to quality leadership.  I put a great deal of emphasis on the relationships the teachers place with the students and feel that this is often reflected by the discipline in the classroom. I attempt to convey this in all of my dealings with everyone I interact with on a daily basis. I am fortunate that many of my co-workers feel similarly.
What one word summarizes you? What do you find most important?

    Hi Brian,
    Interesting exercise…

The word that I keep coming back to for myself is “thoughtful.”

I know I’m very (sometimes disablingly so) pensive; i.e full of thoughts.

I also like to think that I’m thoughtful in the caring sort of way.

    JB
