Last weekend I participated in the first annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Fredericksburg, VA. There were over 400 participants and we raised approximately $50,000 to assist the American Cancer Society in their fight against breast cancer. Four other female administrators from my division joined me in this walk and I truly enjoyed the camaraderie. It reminds me that as female administrators, we make strides every day to not only meet the needs of our students and school communities, but to also eliminate issues of gender bias in the workplace.
