Having used the collaborative writing process for an activity in 716, I was excited to begin the 711 Field Experience 1 project. Now that this project is complete, I have a different perspective on this process. Thinking at first that it would be quicker to write a paper with others, it turned out to take a lot longer. Assigning pieces was the easy part, but making all of the components go together was difficult. It took many hours of editing to develop a scholarly paper. This process did allow me to experience first hand how other people develop ideas and choose words. Watching different people go through this process has taught me more than going through sample papers or reading a text.
