Bringing it All to a Close

Sherry Wharton-Carey

When we first began our journey in EDLP 715, many of us met it with great trepidation.  We were anxious about our “scholarly” writing and how it would be viewed by others.  However, being the resilient and persistent leaders that we are, we moved forward with a sense of determination and commitment to perform the tasks presented to the best of our ability.

We recognize that we have all signed up for an accelerated doctoral program.  We are cognizant of the many challenges that it presents.  We have all faced these obstacles, and, may I say, we have ALL endured!   I must say that our professors were both nurturing and caring, providing our group with the support that we needed to move to the next level.

As for “scholarly writing”, I certainly feel much better than I did when I entered the class on that first Saturday.  I feel more competent and confident in my writing.  It may have been a painful process, but I am a better writer and a better student because of it.  But, isn’t that what the learning process is all about?
