It is hard to believe that I have completed the first year of my doctoral program. Within the first year, I have learned many important things about myself as a person as well as a leader. The course work has been rigorous and has provided me with opportunities to have reflective discussions with my peers as well as professors. This has been extremely beneficial.
The last semester was an eye opening experience for me in regard to policy and ethics. It forced me to look more closely at policies and procedures and the effectiveness of those in practice. It also forced me to look at the decisions I make, both personally and professionally, are ethically sound. I learned that my own values and moral compass affect the decisions I make in my daily life.
I am looking forward to what the future holds for me in regard to my professional career after I finish this program.
