Kickin’4Kidz is a Huge Success
Over 150 boys and girls were invited to participate in the Kickin’4Kidz event that was created by the Center for Sport Leadership (CSL) at VCU. The children came in groups from local boy’s and girl’s clubs, YMCA’s, and other children’s organizations from the local Richmond area. Like the other events that my students conduct, life skills are taught through sport, in this case through the sport of soccer. Teamwork, courage, hard work, and leadership skills were the focus of the day, and with the help of the VCU men’s and women’s soccer teams, the Richmond Kickers, Richmond Strikers, Police Athletic League, Chick-fil-A, Martin’s, and Dick’s sporting goods, the CSL students were able to show off their own leadership skills by providing an outstanding community event that was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended the event.
Well done CSL!!
